  • The setting is located in the Caribbean sea on an island called Ship-Trap Island. The island is such a dangerous place. ''Even cannibals wouldn't live in such a God-forsaken place.'' (Connell 20)
  • Climax
  • Rainsford and Whitney re introduced in the beginning. Rainsford falls off of the yacht and gets stranded on Ship-Trap Island. Rainsford meets a man by the name of General Zaroff. The general welcomes Rainsford into his home and he finds out they have the same interests. ''We will have some capital hunting you and I'' said the general (Connell 25). Later Rainsford was shown to his room to change into nice evening wear.
  • Falling Action
  • Rainsford finds out what kind of animal General Zaroff hunts. '' I hunt the scum of the earth sailors from tramp ships-lascars, blacks, Chinese, whites, mongrels, a thoroughbred horse or hound is worth more than a score of them'' (Connell 27). Rainsford was shocked on what the general did he was a murderer.
  • Resolution
  • I congratulate you, You won the game.
  • Rainsford tells the general he wishes to leave. The general was not happy about that. Rainsford now needs to be part of the generals game. Rainsford leaves and goes into the jungle. He gives the general a trail to follow to attack the general. Rainsford is the generals prey. ''You are proving interesting, Mr. Rainsford said the general.'' (Connell 33)
  • I wish to leave!
  • Rainsford manages to escape from Zaroff and killing Ivan and the dogs. Then Rainsford dives into the ocean. '' When the general and his pack reached then place by the sea , the cossack stopped.'' (Connell 35)
  • The general is tired and goes back to his room. He sees a man behind the curtain of his bed. The man is Rainsford. Rainsford have won the final hunt. It will be Rainsford who sleeps in the Cossacks bed. ''I congratulate you, he said You won the game.'' (Connell 36)
