  • I am Necker you guys need to stop throwing parties and 1 and 2 need to pay taxes
  • Tennis Court Oath
  • We are meeting inside this tennis court for now on, and we have to swear to meet and this constituion will be fair.
  • There was 1st estate, 2nd estate and 3rd estate. The 3rd estate are the poor and 98% of the population. The 1st and 2nd estate would gang up and out vote on things that privileged them and not 3. The first two did not pay taxes either, 3 would get raised taxes when Louis XIV left country in debt.  And they didn't think that was fair at all.
  • Storming the Bastille
  • Let us in now!!!
  • No stand back
  • Estate generals were legislative representatives of each estate. Louis XIV hired Jacques Necker to help with financial problems. He told the king to make all estates pay taxes no more parties. 1 and 2 estates didn't like that so they made the king fire him. Estates prepared grievances by Cahires.
  • Revolution begins
  • The Nation Assembly of 3rd estate delegates feared the King was going to kick them out of the meetings, so they moved their own meeting into a tennis court. The swore not to separate and to meet when circumstances pointed to a fair constitution.
  • The Bastille was a grim fortress used as a prison for political and other prisoners. On July 14 1789 Rumors spread that royal troops were so 800 Persians stood outside Bastille demanding the weapons from inside. They weren't let threw so fire was shot to the crowd, and many people were killed on both sides including the commander. But in the end they were no weapons inside. Bastille fell and ever sense 1880 they celebrate Independence day.
  • This was said to be not a revolt but a revolution. The Declaration of man is a very important document in the revolution, and the King signed it. People mobbed outside the castle wanting the royal family to leave. The mob wanted to kill the royal.
  • leave now and sign this declaration
