In the beginning of the book Kino and Juana live happy lives in their village. The book starts at the beginning of the day. Kino makes breakfasr as Juana feeds their baby Coyotito.
The inciting incident is when Coyotito gets stung by a scorpion. Before he gets stung Kino gets a shoe and swats it. By the time he takes care of it Coyotito is already stung. Juana suggest that they go to the doctor, but the doctor isn't exactly nice to Kino's kind. They go anyway and ask the doctor's servant to go in. The doctor refuses after seeing Kino's small and deformed pearls.
After that Kino finds a pearl that is enough to support his family. Everyone pretty much knows about the pearl soon. People like the priest or the doctor want it for stuff they want. This is the rising action.
Kino starts to think that everyone wants the pearl. Juana tried to throw the pearl back into the ocean, but Kino stopped and beated her. He then ran into a man while Juana was still on the beach. He doesn't know who attacked him, and in the book it doesn't say why. In the end he killed the man, though in the book it doesn't say what with. This is the climax
After that Kino and Juana decided to flee to the mountains to sell the pearl. but they are tracked by trackers. Kino has a plan to lose them, but Coyotito starts to cry. The trackers shoot at a cave Juana and Coyotito were hiding. Kino then attacks them. He drowns one man and kills the next with the rifle. In the end Coyotito was killed by the gunshot. This is the falling action
Kino and Juana go home. Everyone thought he sold the pearl, but when they returned it was now what they wete expecting. Kino goes tho the docks and gets in a boat. He throws the pearl into the sea. And the book ends with the npearl going deeper into the sea. This is the resolution.
