Storyboard Text

  • Idea
  • With all of these plastic straws people are using it's really hurting the environment.
  • Yeah I know right! Someone should put a stop to it and save the turtles!
  • Introduced
  • I propose we ban restaurants and cafes from handing out plastic straws because of the effect plastic straws has on our environment,
  • That's a terrific idea! I will propose it to congress.
  • Committee
  • The bill is in there being discussed by a commitee who determine whether to pass it to a subcommitee.
  • Oh my god yay!
  • Each bill starts out as an idea.
  • Subcommittee
  • Plastic straws are proved to be high risk for killing turtles and other animals in the environment. We all agree that the bill should be passed so now we will report back to the committee.
  • Every bill must start out and be introduced by a congressman
  • Committee
  • Now the committee is determining what happens to the bill.
  • Now the bill is being voted on by the senate or the house of representatives based off of pros and cons.
  • After it is introduced each bill is then sent to the committee that seems most qualified to handle it
  • Full House or Senate Debate
  • The subcommittee researches and discusses the topic of the bill.
  • The committee determines whether the bill is to be passed without changes, have changes and be passed along, be replaced with a new/better bill, or die.
  • If a bill is approved by the committee, then it is ready to be heard and voted on by the full house of representatives or the senate.
  • I hope they pass it!
