George and his men decided to cross the Deleware to go into New Jersey to defeat the Hessians. He needed this victory after he had gone a while with no large victories.
Battle of Trenton
After the troops landed on Trenton they snuck around to secretely surrounded them. The Hessians began the drums to ready their troops.
The battle had began. Colonel Johann Rall decided not to retreat and wanted to fight back.
Colonel Johann Rall was severely injured. Without him to command the troops they fell apart. This was a huge advantage to Washington and his men. This lead to Washington winning the battle and capturing 900 soldiers.
We have won! Treat the Hessians with some sort of respect. Now we will head back across the Deleware to camp.
After a glorious victory the men were back at camp. Now that they were back Washington focused all of his attention on his next goal. The battle of Princeton.
