  • The Boston Massacre
  • The Quartering Act forced American colonists to house and provide supplies for  British soldiers.  These supplies included food, clothing, and means of transportation.
  • The Boston Tea Party
  • \H
  • The Stamp Act  proclaimed that colonists must pay a tax on printed paper - playing cards, newspapers, and even marriage licenses were taxed! A paper was stamped if the tax had been paid. Many colonists began to boycott British goods.
  • The Intolerable Acts
  • Ha ha ha...

  • Did you know that the Boston Massacre started with a snowball fight? Colonists gathered around a British soldier and called him names. More colonists and soldiers came and the fighting grew worse. No apparent command to fire was heard, but soldiers started shooting and five men were killed.
  • After the Boston Massacre, Britain passed the Tea Act saying only the British East India Company could sell tea to the colonies. To protest the tax, colonists dressed as Native Americans snuck   onto a ship filled with British tea  and threw 90,000 pounds of tea into the Boston Harbor.
  • After the Boston Tea Party, Britain passed a series of new laws that the colonists called "The Intolerable Acts." One of theses, the Boston Port Act, closed Boston Harbor.
  • Boston Harbor closed!
  • Britain  passes new laws!
