A little boy named Elie was given a number for a name when he went to concentration camp. He had to get this tattooed on to his body. This number being tattooed on him was only a small part of all thedehumanization he went through. This was just the start of very bad journey Elie had to go through.
This is all that matters to me right now. Trying to survive through this.
Elie and his father among many other people were forced into a cattle car like animals. There were no windows. They had no idea where they were going. There wasn't even enough space for people to lay down they had to take turns. "There are eighty of you in this wagon, add the German officer. If anyone is missing , you'll be shot , like dogs(24)"
When will they stop doing this to me?
I'm just glad to be done with this place.
Elie sees babies being thrown into fire. There were truck loads of babies being thrown into a fire like they were trash.
He doesn't even look sad anymore. They have done so much stuff to us we have no feelings left.
At this point all that mattered to Elie was surviving. He didn't care about anything else. He would even give up his morality for food. Only animals give up their morals for food. Elie is becoming more of an animalthen he is a person.
Elie was being beaten up by one the guards. This guard was beating him like a wild beast. The guards are like wild savages and will do anything to anyone.
