Welcome to my home!
You fancy me mad!! Just wait and see what I do!
I live next door! What is happening?!
The situation of this story is Intense and Thrilling. Just wait and see!
I have been checking on the old man every night and every night I hearken the sounds of him sleeping. I watch in such patience to find the perfect night to kill that ugly eye of his. It blinds me!!
You may make a derision of me. However, wait till you hear that I cut his body pieces and hid them in this very room!
This is just a simple overview of who the author of the book is and what was its title. Also, you can see that some of the characters in the book are the old man, the narrator, and the police
NOOOO!!!! DON'T KILL ME PLEASE!
DIE YOU HIDEOUS EYE! DIE!
Here, we can observe the exposition of the story like the setting which is the old man's home, the characters who are the old man(this particular scene is outside his home), the narrator, police men, and the neighbor. We can also observe the situation/climate which is intense and thrilling.
There was a loud noise coming from the old man's house!! My supposition is that he got hurt by someone!
We will go and investigate now!
Here, we can observe the rising action where the narrator (in black and standing) comes to check on the old man every night. He does this to find the perfect time to kill his blue and hideous eye.
No sir he isn't here, he is out of country and that noise was just me, I had a nightmare.
I CONFESS! I HAVE KILLED THE OLD MAN!! I ADMIT, I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE WHO SYMBOLIZE SAGACITY.
What's that noise? Why isn't it going away?!
Where is the old man?! We have been told that the old man is hurt. Is that true? Where is he? Speak now!
Here, we can observe the climax of the story which is where the story picks up speed and get's intense. The climax here is that the narrator brutally kills the old man and his eye.
Here, we can clearly view the falling action by seeing that the police came due to the neighbor's call.
Here, we can observe the last part of the story which is also known as the Resolution, the answer to the problem in the story. In this case, the answer was that the narrator confessed to killing the old man because of the sound that he heard which got louder and louder and wouldn't go away.
