  • Green, White and Purple were the "official colours" of the suffrage movement across the world. 
  • Petions 
  • Kate sheppard stared the movement after watching the effects alcohol had on families (alcohol abuse). The want to vote started when herself and other suffergetes wanted to have a say in the law regarding the purchase of alcohol.  
  • 
  • A woman's life during these times was busy and restricted. they had lots of jobs to do and they had to follow heaps if rules. They typical role for a woman was to be a Wife, Mother, Homemaker & Housekeeper. 
  • 
  • It involved Kate Sheppard petitioning parliament against the sale of liquor to young children and the employment of barmaids. It was unsuccessful and the petitions were ignored.
