Odysseus and his men were hiding from the Cyclops because he was out in the field and they were waiting for him to come over to the cave so they can talk to him. They were thinking about just taking the cheese he had in the cave and then leaving, but they decided not to.
He traps the men in his cave
The Cyclops was off doing his own thing when he saw a reflection of the men. He turned around to see who it was and spotted the men. They were terrified of what was bout to happen to them...
The Men are Hiding from the Cyclops
Once the Cyclops sees them, he wants to know exactly what they are doing and why they are there. The cyclops just picks up two of the men and throws them into his mouth. This is one of the main reasons that the Cyclops was a threat to them.
The Men get Back to the Boat
He traps the men into his cave and they have to find a way to get out before he eats all of them. They try to find ways out and always fail. They thought about it and the only way they could get out is if they stab his eye so that he can not see to stop them. The Cyclops gets up, which means the exit is clear and they make a run for it.
Most of the men make it out the door, some were eaten, and now they need to find somewhere to hide before the giant gets them again. They find the best place was to get under a sheep and hold onto it's fur for dear life.
The men get back to their ship and the Cyclops starts praying that they never make it home and if they do, make it very bad for them. The gods answer and it instantly starts coming their way...
