King Laius and Queen Jocasta gave birth to their newborn son. With his superstition King Laius and Queen Jocasta brought their son to an oracle. Discovering that their son will one day murder his father and marry his mother.
The baby was given to a Shepherd and given the directions to nail the baby's foot to the ground. Then the king and queen of Corinth came and adopted the boy and given the name Oedipus.
Years later Oedipus goes to an oracle himself. The oracle told him that he would one day murder his father and marry his mother. To escape his fate Oedipus runs away.
