Storyboard Text

• What on earth is radius?
• Radius is the distance between the edge and the center of a circle. It is also half of the diameter which is the measurement from one end of a circle to the other.
• I suppose that we have to find the diameter first. Once we find the diameter, we can divide it by 2 to get our radius.
• Once we find the radius, we can perform our formula for finding the area of a circle. The diameter of the pie is 10 inches, so the radius is 5 inches. How do we find the area again?
• We find the area by doing the formula pi multiplied by the radius squared. So we would do (5*5)*3.14= 78.5 inches squared.
• Cool, so the area of the pie is 78.5 inches squared!!
