  • The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe (1843) Malrie Thompson
  • Jokes on them !not a spot of blood has been left
  • A shriek had been heard by the neighbors during the night. We have been deputed to search the premises
  • no problem
  • Chase enters the old mans house everyday at twelve, this time on the eighth night. This night, he has never felt the extent of his own sagacity, for this night, he was prepared to kill the old man because of the hatred towards his eye. The supposition that the old mans eye holds evil constantly  lingers in his mind.
  • What is this overpowering sound, almost steadily increasing
  • Please, take a seat
  •  After he vehemently entered the old mans house, Chase's plan to kill the the old man works out and he cuts the old man into different pieces and hides the evidence.
  • He's acting pretty strange
  • I confess! I admit the deed! it is the beating of his hideous heart!
  • The police officers were told that there was a shriek that has been heard by the other neighbors and asked permission to search Chase's house. Chase derided them becausee he already hid all of the possible evidence.
  • Chase allows the officers to sit and rest of their fatigue. Chase begins to get nervous because he heard a sound resembling a heart beat and he got nervous and it drove him insane.
  • The police officers hearkened onto his words and he tells them that he killed the old man and that it is all his fault.
