  • The Seven Years War affected the British and cost them lots of money, so they had to become creative in paying it back
  • Reaction
  • The British decided to use the American colonies by taxing their everyday products, therefore being able to pay their debts
  • Reaction
  • The British taxed all paper items with stamps, every document, newspaper, letter, magazines, and more were taxed so that the British could earn money, but the colonists weren't too happy about it
  • The unnecessary taxing upset the colonists very much, so they went to extreme measures to protest against Britain, like how a group of colonists dressed as Natives dumped 300 boxes of tea into the Harbor, later known as the Boston Tea Party
  • Women were also encouraged to make their own prodcts instead of buying Britain's products as a boycott, they made tea and cloth themselves instead of paying for the taxed British items
