Storyboard Text

  • If you and dad hadn't fought so loudly last night I would have slept better. I wonder what is going to happen to our family.
  • Hurry up Sophie, you are going to make me late. What is taking you so long?
  • Everybody else is so lucky... Oh no, I forgot my backpack!
  • 1. Review homework
  • Great, I'm late, no seats, I don't have my homework! What a crappy day.
  • Before School
  • Hi Sophie, why don't you come and have a seat up here?
  • Uh-oh.
  • Arriving at school, still upset about last night and the morning, Sophie feels as though everyone else's life is perfect. She feels even more upset and angry when she realizes she has forgotten her backpack.
  • It seems to me you are upset, Sophie. Do you want to talk about it?
  • What's up with her?
  • I'm having a terrible day....first this.....then .... and now...
  • In class, Ms. Smith begins with reviewing homework. Sophie gets angrier as it seems everything and everyone is going against her.
  • That's too bad, Sophie, why don't you make notes on this. Jenny would you mind if Sophie looked over your homework with you? Sophie, come speak with me after class and we can get you sorted for the day.
  • Sophie stomps across the room and talks out angrily disturbing the entire class.
  • Ms. Smith tries to calm Sophie by using proximity, validating her emotions, and non threatening body language.
  • Sophie calms a bit and Ms.Smith offers a few solutions to help Sophie get back on task.
