My political cartoons are based on the Dread Scott decision. I picked this because I know a lot about the Dread Scott decision. Dread Scott, an enslaved african American , had resided in slave.The U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in the Dred Scott case struck down the Missouri Compromise as unconstitutional, maintaining that Congress had no power to forbid or abolish slavery in the territories.The Dred Scott decision was the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on March 6, 1857, that having lived in a free state and territory did not entitle an slaved person, Dred Scott, to his freedom.
