Is that a volcano? I think it is! I remember learning about volcanos at school. Let's see this volcano seems to be extinct. I think I'm going to go check it out.
Now if I remember correctly there is something called a magma chamber in a volcano and that is where the magma stores up. Then it goes through a pipe which is basically a long tube that connects the magma chamber to the earth. Finally, there's this thing called a vent which is an opening where magma comes out of.
Uh-oh. I don't think this volcano isn't extinct after all. It's active! Eventually, it will become dormant, but right now I should run.
Now more and more lava is coming out of the volcano! Lava is magma when it reaches the surface
I think there is going to be a pyroclastic flow. A pyroclastic flow is when an eruption throws out a mixture of hot gases, ash, and cinder.
Good thing I got out of there before it exploded.
