I wish the sun would just go behind the clouds already. It is so hot!
I wish Thor would just give us his Hammer so we could get into Asgard.
WHERE IS MY HAMMER?!
"We will get Freyja's falcon-guise and search for it," (47)
The Frost Giants want to get into Asgard. They hate the cold weather, the river, the flowers, and the green mountains. They really hate Thor, and want his hammer so they can get into Asgard.
"You won't find it, I have buried it eight miles underground, and no one shall find it unless he gets Freyja for me as my wife." (48)
Thor wakes up and cannot find his hammer anywhere. He knows it was the frost giants.
"Do you think I am a weak lovesick girl, to follow you to Jotunheim and marry Thrym?" (48)
Thor tells Loke about his problem, and Loke, who is very good at getting out of trouble, came up with a solution right away.
" . . . let Thor be dressed up and go in her place."
" . . . you will jeer at me."
Loke arrives at Jotunheim, the home of the giants, and the giant, Thrym, greets him and confesses he stole the hammer. He refuses to give it back unless he can have Freyja as his wife.
Thor tells Freyja to get ready to get married and Freyja refuses. She was so mad that her necklace broke into pieces.
The gods gathered to plan what they should do. Heimdal, who could look into the future, knew that there would be great danger if the frost giants kept the hammer, so he told Thor to pretend to be Freyja. Thor did not like this idea.
