Storyboard Text

  • Thanks to the 15th amendment, we now have the opportunity to vote, and it cannot be taken from us.
  • The 15th amendment allowed all freedmen to vote, and said that no state or person could deprive them of that right based on color or race.
  • Now that freedmen can vote our nation is sure to fall.
  • I agree, but since we cannot deny them due to race, lets find a loop hole.
  • Southern states found loop holes to prevent freedmen from voting. They created poll taxes and literacy test. This made most blacks ineligible to vote because they were uneducated, and had no money.
  • These new qualifications will never allow us to vote!
  • The Freedmen will never have a voice.
  • Some Freedmen became educated once they were free, which allowed those few to still be able to vote.
