Environmental health plays a huge role on the health of the general public.
Environmental health can be defined as the aspects of the environment which effect us people. Those aspects being: where we live, the quality of air we inhale, the water we drink, the food we consume, etc.
Some people are quite fortunate to live in areas with good environmental health. However, people, usually with a lower income are stuck in bad environments. Those environments being unsanitary and all around unhealthy.
Another example of bad environmental health is exhaust released in the air from cars, chemicals in our drinking water from pesticides in agriculture, etc.
Another important aspect of public health is called residential segregation. This is when poorer communities don't have as many resources as rich ones. As a result, they have worse health due to lower education, limited healthcare and less job opportunities.
I found these readings very interesting, however the thing I found the most interesting was how much we people damage the Earth and our environmental health from the things we do everyday.
