  • Romeo, Mercutio, and Benvolio are at Capulet's masked party. Capulet invites all his guests to dance to make the party livelier.
  • "Will now deny to dance?" page 51 line 22
  • "A hall, a hall, give room! -And foot it girls-" page 53 line 31
  • Romeo falls in love with Juliet at first sight.
  • "O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!" page 53 line 51
  • Tybalt discovers Romeo's identity and wants to violently kick Romeo out of the party, but Capulet allows Romeo to stay.
  • "Content thee, gentle coz. Let him alone." page 55 line 74
  • "Uncle this is a Montegue, our foe, a villain that is hither come in spite to scorn at our solemnity this night." page 55 line 69-71
  • Juliet falls in love with Romeo, while dancing, and they have mutual love. They kiss twice.
