I loved words from the beginning of the life. My mom always read us the Bible, the stories of Spanish conquistadors, and of pirates she had read as a child. She taught us to read with the newspaper and to write with slates.
I always wanted to be a writer or a teacher but my dad didn't want me to, after struggling and working hard I graduated at the top of my class.
In those days you could teach in a country school with just a highschool diploma, I had books sent to me by the government, and I was a very happy man, until the war came, and I had to go.
When I came back from war, you couldn´t teach with a highschool diploma anymore so I became a farmer. I married a good woman who gave me good children.
Remember what day it is? It´s poetry reading day.
