not exactly, they have a very complex process in order to get the food to survive
like the Calvin cycle, it is a series of biochemical reactions that takes place in the stroma of chloroplast. It is called light-independent reaction.
and the NADPH is used as a reducing equivalent in the reactions of the Calvin cycle.
and the light energy is also intercepted by chlorophyll molecules on the granal stacks. Some of the light energy is converted to chemical energy, during this process a phosphate is added to a molecule to cause the formation of ATP.
