Storyboard Text

  • Hi, guys ! Ready for today's adventure ? Well, today we are going to travel in time in search of vocab words that went missing in Ms. Niane's classroom.
  • Can't wait to find those words and teach you about them as we find them.
  • We found Covalent Bonds, Ionic Bonds, Single Bonds, Double Bonds, & Triple Bonds.
  • A single bond is when one pair of  electrons is shared. And well the double and third bonds share 2 & 3.
  • I can explain some, so a covalent bond is when 2 atoms share electron pairs, a ionic bond is tranferring of electrons between 2 atoms.
  • Aha ! Here we found the Octect rule & Hund's rule.
  • Hund's Ruleevery orbital in a subshell is singly occupied with one electron before any one orbital is doubly occupied, and all electrons in singly occupied orbitals have the same spin.
  • Octet Rule is when atoms are always searching a complete outer level.
  • Guess who we found ? Thats right, chemical reactivity, electronegativity, & electron configuration.
  • Electron Configurations hows the arrangement of electrons around the nucleus of an atom.
  • Chemical Reactivity is the tendency of a substance to undergo chemical change in a system.
  • Electronegativity is a measure of the tendency of an atom to attract a bonding pair of electrons.
  • Atomic Structure, Molecular Geometry, & Chemical Reaction were hiding very well.
  • Chemical Reaction is  a process that leads to the transformation of one set of chemical substances to another.
  • Atomic Structure is positively charged  nucleus surrounded and neutralized by negatively charged electrons
  • Molecular Geometry three-dimensional arrangement of the atoms that constitute a molecule.
  • Valence and Chemical Family were hard to find.
  • 2 more to go
  • Valence Electron a single electron or one of two or more electrons in the outer shell of an atom.
  • Chemical Family is is a column of elements in the periodic table of the chemical elements.
