Storyboard Text

  • During this scene Banquo is telling his son, Fleance that he has a weird feeling about the night and he can't sleep. Banquo asks God to please keep him away from nightmares.
  • "The moon is down. I have not heard the clock" 
  • Hold, take my sword. There's husbandry in heaven; Their candles are all out. Take thee that too. A heavy summons lies like lead upon me, And yet I would not sleep Merciful powers, Restrain in me the cursed thoughts that nature Gives way to in response"
  • Banquo is telling Macbeth that he dreamt with the 3 witches. Macbeth senses that Banquo knows what is about to happen so Macbeth says that if Banquo stays loyal with him, when the time came Banquo will gain honor from Macbeth.
  • "All's well. I dreamt last night of the three weird sisters: To you they have shown some truth."
  • "If you shall cleave my consent, when tis' I shall make an honor for you."
  • Macbeth's soliloquy: Macbeth sees a bloody, floating dagger pointing towards Duncan's room. Macbeth was confused with reality and the meaning of that dagger. He was hallucinating, but this dagger foreshadows that Macbeth will kill Duncan.
  • King Duncan's room
  • "Is this a dagger which I see before me, the handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee. I have thee not, and yet I see thee still
  • Lady Macbeth rang the bell, that meant that it was time to kill. This is a representation of Macbeth killing king Duncan.
  • The time has come, I will now kill for ambition. 
  • My hands are of your same color, bit I shame to wear a heart so white. 
  • Knock!
  • In this part of the scene lady Macbeth establishes that she has the same guilt as Macbeth, but she would be ashamed if she had his weak heart. Macbeth suggests to get cleaned with water so they don't look suspicious.
  • I hear a knocking At the south entry. A little water clears of of this deed.
  • "To know my deed, 'twere best not know myself"
  • Knock!
  • Knock!!
  • Macduff knocks on Duncan's door with the intention of waking him up early as the king had ordered him to do. What Macduff didn't knw at that moment was that Duncan would never wake up again.
  • "Was It so late friend, ere you went to bed, That you do lay so late?
  • Knock!!!!!!
  • Knock!!!!!!
