Storyboard Text

  • In Mayor Carter Harrison's office.
  • Alright, you have my permission. Hope it goes well.
  • We need our voices to be heard, let us gather in Haymarket Square so our voices can be heard.
  • Sir, we, the working classing can not stay quiet when we are being attacked.
  • Lizzie, not many showed up today nor speakers. Do you know why?
  • But we won't. I went to talk to the mayor and we said protesting here is fine
  • The next day, May the 4, Lucy Parson and Lizzie Holmes organized the protest. Expecting 200,000 people but few then 2,500 showed up.
  •
  • THEY ARE TRYING TO SILENCE OUR VOICES!! BUT WE ARE TIRED OF WORKING LIKE DOGS!!
  • They are scared we might be attacked again.
  • Hello, Lizzie.
  • Albert and I are leaving now. It looks like it's going to rain
  • I am Samuel Fielden. "Keep your eye on the law. Throttle it. Kill it. Stop it. Do everything you can to wound it- to impede its progress."
  • Hello, Albert.
  • Because of what happened yesterday
  • Why are you here?
  • We wanted to know why there was so many people.
  • A bomb was thrown, shots were fired. Smoke rose and so did the souls those deceased. That day May the 4th.
  • 11 bodies lied lifelessly on the streets. 4 workers and 11 police. 11 lives were taken for hope of change who may never see it come but they did not die in vain. Eventually it will someday.
