The narrator loved the old man, for the old man had never done anything wrong to the narrator.It was just the old mans eye that the narrator hated.
The narrator hated the old mans eye. The eye was pale blue with a white film over it. The eye made the narrator feel intimidated, nervous, and anxious. He watched the old man as he slept.
The narrator planned to kill the old man to get rid of the vulture eye. The narrator would watch the old man as he slept every night. One night the narrator made a loud noise and the old man asked,"Who's there?"
As the narrator watched the old man sleep, he would hold a lantern to see if the vulture eye was open. One the eye was open the narrator got a mattress, and crushed the old man to death.
The narrator dismembered the old mans head, arms, and legs in the tub. Then, he his the body under the floorboards. The neighbors called the police because they heard the scream of the old man.
The police arrived and the narrator told him the scream was his own due to a nightmare. He also said that the old man was out in the country. The narrator than began to go crazy mistaking his own heartbeat for the old mans in the floorboards. He then admitted the crime he had done to the police.
