I finally overcame my fear and shared Kahil's story with the world with the holes that he will get justice.
At Maya's house, the interview of the officer that shot Kahil is on TV. After watching it, Hailey sympathizes with the cop and says that Kahil deserved to get shot because he was a drugdealer.
This isn't true at all, and I finally call her out on all the racist things she says. And I ask her is that's the reason why she unfollowed my tumbler.
The next day, Hailey finds out that I knew Kahil and asks me why I lied about it. Hailey later says that the world is better off without him and that the cop did the world a good service.
Eventually a physical fight breaks out involving our older brothers as well. We all get suspended for 3 days.
My dad finally agrees with my mom after having a long and heated argument to move away from Garden Heights. We now know that we can make a differene to the comminity even though we won't live there. This is all sparked becayse one of the many gangs in my naighborhood shot through our front windows when we were eating dinner.
There is another massive protest in my neighborhood and my Daddy's shop ends up being set on fire by Kind, the lead drug dealer in the gang. He is later caught and arrested.
Even though the trial isn't over I learned that I will never forget Kahlil and I will continue to fight for his justice.
I apologize with Hailey and we both realize the mistakes we made in our friendship.
