Storyboard Text

  • The reader learns that setting is Maycomb Alabama 1925. Initially, there is not much conflict. The children often play games with Dill (a friend from away), such as the Boo Radley game.
  • Mayella Ewell has accused Tom Robinson, a black man, of raping her. Atticus is defending Tom in the trial.
  • Trial of Tom Robinson. Tom, an African American is accused of raping Mayella Ewell the daughter of Bob Ewell. It's a long trial that affects the town and the main characters.
  • When Atticus questions Mayella, it become apparent to all that she's lying. Tom Robinson and Tom was found guilty.
  • Bob Ewell is angry at everyone who helped Tom Robinson in the case and swears revenge on Atticus.
  • Jem and Scout are attacked by Bob Ewell and are saved by Boo Radley. Scout comes to the realization that Boo is a good person. Her perspective shifts and her maturity and empathy grow as a result.
