Battle of Princeton
On August, 27,1776, the Battle of Brooklyn happened. General Howe's troops greatly outnumbered the small Continental Army. Washington had no choice but to retreat.
Battles of Saratoga
On Christmas, Washington's troops rowed a boat across the Delaware and successfully took over the Hessian base there.
The British soon arrived at Trenton and surrounded the Patriots. The Americans set up campfires and kept them lit while he retreated to Princeton in order to fool the British troops. At Princeton, they defeated a small army.
The Siege of Yorktown
After the British lost the Battle of Saratoga, France saw that the Patriots have a chance at winning the war. And so, an alliance between the two countries was created.
After Saratoga, Washington was forced to endure a harsh winter at Valley Forge. His troops were cold and angry and some even planned to assassinate Washington
At Yorktown, the patriots and the French surrounded the British and won the final battle of the war.
