St. Bernadette was born on January 7th, 1844.
Growing up, their family was very poor and weren't living in the greatest living conditions. Bernadette was the oldest out of nine children and suffered from severe asthma and cholera.
When Bernadette, her sister and friend went to go and grab firewood, they came upon a cave with a small river of water. Bernadette saw a lady come out of the cave wearing blue and white and made and sign of the cross and started praying the rosary.
Bernadette fell to her knees and started praying with her rosary. Bernadette was the only one able to see her, but she knew what she saw.
Three days later, the girls returned back to the spring. Bernadette immediately knelt down and started to pray, in hope to see the lady again. On February 18, Bernadette was told to come back everyday to pray.
On February 25, Bernadette claimed to have a life'-changing vision. She claimed that when she went back, the lady told her to drink from the spring. As told, Bernadette drank from the spring. The next day when she returned, the river's muddy water was clear and fresh water flowed through.
Drink and wash with the water of the spring.
During her sixteenth vision on March 25th, The lady told Bernadette she was the immaculate conception after Bernadette asking multiple times.
