  • In 1929 the King's family has a new member. It is the beginning of a new life.

  • In 1955 Martin Luther King meets Rosa Parks and further to this event he takes the lead of the movement of support.

  • You are black ! if I want this place you have to give it to me
  • I shall not give you this place ! I have the same right as you to sit here.
  • In 1963, he is at the head of big campaigns for civil rights of Blacks, the end of segregation... In his speech of August 28th, 1963, he issues an appeal for a country where all men would share the same rights in justice and peace.

  • In 1964, Martin Luther King receives the Nobel Peace Prize. He is the youngest prize-winner. Most of the rights for which he stands for are passed as laws such as the Civilian Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

  • After his successes in the South of the United States, Martin Luther King settles down in Chicago in 1966 and tries to widen the movement in the North of the country. The demonstrations which he organizes in Chicago arouse even more reaction violent than in the South.

  • Martin Luther King dies murdered by a white segregationist on April 4th, 1968 in Memphis while he supported a strike.
