Storyboard Text

  • What events today can relate to the shutout of the 3rd Estate?
  • Dang, the king kicked us out, lets not stop meeting until we make a new constitution
  • Yeah!
  • Stupid king!
  • Great Idea!
  • What were important things that the French did or should of added to their constitution to make a better country?
  • The Constitution is finished
  • We should call it the Declaration of the Rights of Man
  • How was the making of the French Constitution similar to the making of the American Constitution
  • Here's the new constitution. I call it the Declaration of the Rights of Man
  • For the people, not the power.
  • The 3rd Estate was locked out of the meeting and suspected a plot against them. They held their own meeting and vowed to never stop meeting until a new constitution was made. This created the National Assembly
  • Rough drafts were created by Marquis de Lafayette with help by Thomas Jefferson until a final draft was made. Thomas Jefferson, creator of the American Constitution was a big inspiration. The American Revolution had a large impact on the French Revolution.
  • After writing a new constitution, it was named the "Déclaration des droits de l'homme et du citoyen" (Declaration of the Rights of Man). It gave power to the people, not the government. This made France became a constitutional monarchy until the king was killed.
