She was born in Seattle, Washington in 1892. She lived with her mom, aunt, dad, grandpa, and grandma
Alice Ball was a brilliant woman in college. She graduated with 2 degrees in pharmaceutical chemistry.
But with all the successes she had in her life she had an obstacle her grandmother passed away in 1905. She was a little distracted but she still continued with her work
She was assigned a major assignment involving the effect of chaulmooga oil on patients with Hansen. But the time of her research Ball became extremely ill.
She worked under extra pressure to produce injectable chaulmooga oil and according some observes she became exhausted in the process
She later died at the age of 24. The cause of death was injuries from inhaling chlorine gas during a class demonstration in Honolulu. After her death, The "Ball" method was still being used to treat hansen disease patients in remote areas.
