Storyboard Text

  • We have begun building trade warehouses here in India that are associated with our East India Company. At this time, India was only made up by many small states with their own rulers. Sometimes, these states don't allow the British to trade with them.
  • The French and the British fought because the French had their own East India Company.
  • We will help you if you help us trade, but we will kill you if you try to block the trade.
  • In the year 1757, Robert Clive made an alliance to an Indian general to help him fight and overthrow Siraj-Ud-Daula the ruler of Bengal. They won the battle and gave the British control over Bengal.
  • In 1765, Robert Clive was sent back to India to rule over Bengal and take over more states under British control. The French were soon defeated and left India.
  • Robert Clive you're a hero!!!
  • At 1850s, they ruled about 60% of India and they banned their traditional ceremonies and some of the Indians rebelled against the British rule.
  • You shall not do your silly ceremonies!
  • Go Away!!!
