  • Athena is talking to Telemachus about his father and that he is not dead. " It seems the Gods are still keeping him back, for he is not dead."
  • Have you decided which one of us you would like to marry
  • In this scene, Penelope repeatedly asks the suitors to go home, each to his own place. While she is in wait for Odysseus to return home for she believes he is not dead. 
  • "My dear child, why sail of now. You are the only one hope of this house."
  • Telemachus tells the suitors to stop washing his supplies of food and drink and to leave his house. They laugh at him that night. Telemachus set sails for Pylos that night.
  • "Welcome from Ithaca!"

  • Here Penelope repeatedly tells each and every one of her suitors that, " Let me finish weaving before I marry." Later she unravels that days work, so every day she starts over again hoping that Odysseus will return home.
  • In this scene, Telemachus went to one of his servants to get food and drink for his voyage and try to stop him. She is scared that these suitors will take over their house as he is the only hope left for them.
  • Nestor gives Telemachus a very warm welcome in Pylos. He tells stories of his own return and other heroes of Troy. However, he does not know what will happen to Odysseus. he later leaves for Sparta.
