Lisa invites three Indigenous guests onto the show to talk about finding their culture in Toronto. All three are half Native and had their Indigenous parent leave their family when they were young.

New Fire: Big City Edition
When she was a baby, Lisa Charleyboy's Indigenous father committed suicide.
She moved to Abbotsford with her Californian mother, but encountered a lot of negative stereotypes towards Native people.
In order to avoid the stereotypes, she spent her time inside, reading fashion magazines such as Vogue. She never got the chance to learn about her father's culture.
At the age of seventeen, Lisa moved to Toronto. She began connecting with the Native arts community to learn about "all things Indigenous" and was particularly inspired by Spirit Magazine.
Unfortunately, the three guests did not have as easy of a time transitioning to city life. Each of them took a while to find ways to connect to their culture in the heart of Toronto.
Nanook Gordon grew up in Nova Scotia with her French-Canadian/Irish father. Her mother had to leave when Nanook was three due to alcoholism, and she grew up believing that she was white.
