  • Marc Chagall was born in Belarus in 1887. He worked in France and died in 1985.
  • Chagall found his joy for art when he saw a classmate draw something on the corner of an assignment. He asked him how he did that and really wanted to learn how to do it as well.
  • He became inspired for his most famous work, I and the village, whilst sitting in the village of his birth and looking around. He saw vibrant life and motion all around  and so, he painted.
  • Chagall moved to france and established himself in the art academy of paris. He became recognized worldwide for his original style.
  • Chagall's artwork reflects a lot of his Jewish roots and he always remained true to his religion.
  • Chagall died in France in 1985.
