Storyboard Text

  • Nitrogen Fixation is first step in the nitrogen cycle.
  • It is when nitrogen in the atmosphere is converted into ammonia.
  • Next up is nitrification that is when the ammonia is turned into nitrite and nitrate.
  • Root uptake is when plants take nutrients like nitrate and nitrites from the soil. Next is when protein synthesis takes place. It is when the plant produce protein.
  • The plants made in the nitrogen cycle are producers. The protein from the plants are put into the food chain when consumers eat the plants.
  • The nitrogen in plants goes through the food web and is decomposed back into the soil once plants and animals die.
  • Denitrification is when bacteria in the soil converts nitrates into nitrogen gas., which goes back into the air and atmosphere.
  • Now the cycle repeats with Nitrogen fixation, Nitrification, Root Uptake, Protein Synthesis, Food Chain, Decomposition, Denitrification
