  • newtons first law is that an object would remain at rest or in motion until acted upon by a force.
  • if he kicks the ball it will go straight until friction acts on it.
  • newtons second law states that the acceleration of an object is dependent upon two variables, the net force and the mass of an object.
  • In basket ball you see the second law in action when a player passes the ball or shoots it.
  • His third law states that for every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction. In other words, if object A exerts a force on object B, then object B also exerts an equal and opposite force on object A. Notice that the forces are exerted on different objects.
  • For example, the wings of a bird force air downward and backward in order to get lift and forward motion.
