Le Quesnoy, Northern France. A powerful fort that was huilt above high ground with thick and low walls, surrounded by ditches with water to stop people tunneling.
In 1914, young men from Le Quesnoy set out to fight the Germans. They fought hard and tried to push back the Germans from invading their hometown.
Germans took over Le Quesnoy and stole all of the civilians' resources and food. Those that complained were put in jail.
The NZ soldiers arrived, and surrounded Le Quesnoy. They tried to get rid of the Germans, while not killing any civilians.
NZ flew planes over Le Quesnoy, dropping messages to ask the Germans to surrender. But, unfortunately they refused.
NZ eventually saved the town of Le Quesnoy, they made the Germans surrender and celebrated happily. However, many people died.
