- Your mom and I haven’t been really getting along with each other lately, and…um...

- We got divorced.
- We will give you time to choose which one of us to live with, just tell us when you are ready.
- We just weren’t happy together. We fought together a lot.
- Charlie sits a long time in his room thinking about all the possibilities and the consequences.
- Visiting both would be very hard. My mom and dad will live very far from each other, so switching frequently would waste money and time. If I stay with my dad…I won’t be able to see mom, but if I stay with my mom, then I won’t be able to see my dad. I could visit on the weekends when we have time so we wouldn’t have to move all the time and I can still see both my parents. Mom is also still living in this house so I can still go to the same school and stay with my friends.
