Storyboard Text

  • After the event, propaganda began to be created. The Sons of Liberty asked Henry Pelham to create a depiction of the event.
  • But after people saw the engraving they were outraged. It was not accurate. It made the event seem like the colonists were peaceful and the redcoats were shooting in formation.
  • After England heard of this event, they decided that they would put the redcoats involved on trial. This was because they did not want the colonists to have a reason to fight back at the British.
  • The redcoats then asked John Adams to plead for them because they knew that he would advocate for a fair trial. During the trial, he said that they should not be guilty, because there was no way this situation could have been avoided.
