Jordan and Daisy walk into a library room and saw a, "middle-aged... somewhat drunk man with enormous owl- eyes", this man was Owl Eyes (Steinbeck . He basically lives because he never left a party and his name means knowledge but he is always drunk.
As Nick is leaving the party he sees that Owl got into a car crash and Owl eyes claims, "I know very little about driving... I wasn't even trying", which connects to reckless disregard for others (Steinbeck 54). Owl Eyes was very drunk when he got into the car and he was so out of it that he did not even know they crashed.
We finally meet Wolfsheim when Gatsby meets him at a restaurant and Nick has never met him but Gatsby says, “Meyer Wolfshiem? No, he’s a gambler”, which connects to the corruption of the American dream (Steinbeck 73). People made money by committing crimes and Nick is suspicious of Wolfshiem because of this.
