Storyboard Text

  • French and Indian War 1754-1763
  • The French and Indian war started when Gorge Washington's Troops skirmished French troops in the Ohio river basin. Also, we won the war after being funded greatly by the English parliament.
  •  We never thoroughly colonized our land in North America but still wanted control over it.
  • Writs of Assistance 1770
  • The Writs of Assistance Allows us to search people's homes without a search warrant.
  • British Officer, Open up.
  • Boston Massacre 1770
  • Five of my friends have shot and three of them will soon be dead. This event will be portrayed to the colonists as a massacre of lots of unarmed people.
  • The impact that the French and Indian war had on the colonists' decision to declare independence is that taxes skyrocketed, this angered the colonists because they did not have anyone to represent them in parliament.
  • Boston Tea Party 1770
  • The Writs of Assistance led to the declaration of independence because it angered the colonists, this time instead of taxing them of there money they taxed them of their privacy.
  • The Ride of Paul Revere 1775
  •  The British are coming, The British are coming! I have seen the British marching towards Lexington and Concord.
  • The Boston Massacre angered many colonists because of the way it was presented to them.
  • Second Continental Congress 1775
  • For the loyalists, we have made a petition, called the olive branch petition that asks for peace. And for the Patriots we have decided to start forming a continental army, with Gorge Washington as general.
  • Olive Branch Petition
  • The Boston tea party was important because it was one of the only protests that the British responded to.
  •  We pour this tea into the Boston harbor because of the monopoly the Brits created for the British East India Company with the Tea Act.
  • The Ride of Paul Revere showed that the colonists were prepared for war and knew what was coming.
  • The second continental congress was significant because it was the first time the Colonists decided to take up arms against the British.
