Our narrator, Montresor, feels betrayed by his friend Fortunato. He develops a plan to kill Fortunato why'll they retrieve an old wine. They go into their family vault and go on a journey to retrieve the wine and retrieve revenge
Lets go to the vault and retrieve the great Amontillado!
Once they reach the Amontillado, Montresor begins to setup and develop a plan. He chains Fortunato to a wall and begins to seal him away. Fortunato at first thinks it's a joke. But then he begins to panic. He screams out to Montresor, begging him for help
For god sakes Montresor!
In the end, Montresor has his revenge and Fortunato.
I thought that this was a huge turn in the story for Montresor to actually kill Fortunato. I do not think anyone would have expected this. It would definitely be a contrast and contradictions.
