  • We are trapping the British in Yorktown. So they can't escape.

  • Captain what are we doing in the York river with a fleet of warships?
  • British Soldiers Heading towards Yorktown  
  • I wonder what the Continental army is doing right now?
  • The Continental Army with George Washington  
  • Men we are one step closer to winning independence from those nasty redcoats.  They Have made us suffer through acts and laws. Today is the day we put an end to this. 
  • 29 French warships surrounded Yorktown to trap the British. The French had helped the colonies in trapping the British in Yorktown. This war was the ending of the Revolutionary war. Without the French maybe the British would be able to fight off the Continental army.

  • We will get the dirty lobsterbacks out of this town and our country. 
  • British troops were heading towards Yorktown when the Continental army and the French army trapped the British army. This trap was the ending of the Revolutionary war. The British were highly out numbered in this insinuation.  Also 29 French warships blocked the other exits.

  • The British army did not expect the Continental army to come and trap them. There was no way of getting out because French Warships blocked the river, so the British cant flee away. This also let the French and The Continental army trap them from behind.  
  • The French sent 5,000 troops to join the Continental army. The help that the Continental army was huge and played a huge role in this trap. The French and the Continental army surrounded the British, and French warships blocked the river.

  • The battle of Yorktown was the final battle in the American Revolutionary war. The Continental army had support from the French and from the patriots. They were also on home turf, as for the British had to travel an entire ocean to reach the colonies. Also the people back in Britain did not support the war. As a result the colonies won independence.
