The trail began. The mood of the place was very strange. People seemed to have a festive mood. Which did not fit into the situation. Even the judge, Judge Taylor, had a festive mood.
White people could sit on the 1st floor. Black people had to sit in the 2nd floor which was labeled as "Colored Only". Mr Heck Tate was first. He explained he began explaining what he experienced with Mr Ewell's daughter.
Mr Tate's turn was over. Atticus questions the witness and asks things that will help him later on. He identifies which eye the girl had injuries on and whether or not he called the doctor.
It was Mr Ewell's turn, he explained what he saw and what happened. After he explained what happened he attempted to avoid Atticus's questions, although Atticus stops him. Ewell was not expecting to get cross-examined. Aticcus asked him to write his name on a piece of paper. Aticcus now identified him as left handed and the girl had a black eye on her right eye. Maybe it was Ewell that injured her.
