Hi honey. I *sigh* have to tell you that Moon got out last night..
It was a normal Saturday, around 3 pm when I got a phone call. My mom usually doesn't call when I'm not with her I thought. Answering the phone, I asked if everything was all right.
My mom sighed loudly into the phone and I knew something was then wrong. "Is it Bailey", I asked. At that moment she began to tell me what had happened the night before with Moon, my beloved dog.
He is going to be alright.
Moon had raced out the front door the night before and not returned. Usually, he came home for food or a neighbor brought him around, but that didn't happen all night long. My mom waited up for him.
I can't lose him
Moon returned home much later and he was hurt. He limped home after being hit by a car and seemed alright for the most part. My mom didn't know what had happened or the extent of his injuries until he howled in pain for hours in the early morning. She rushed him to the hospital.
My mom informed me that after many hours at the vet hospital, Moon was doing alright. he fractured his hip and had to wear a cast for 8 weeks without movement and had to be kept in a crate.
This changed me by being more grateful for the things I have and learning that you really never know what you have and how special it is until it's lost or in my case, almost lost. Also, this experience showed me how life is unexpected and truly unpredictable.
