Hello there, I'm farmer Brown! I've come to talk to you about how populism came to be.
By 1890, farmers were simply outraged. They were tired of having no political power.
The Cost of wheat went down due to over production, making farmers lose money.
Railroads were overcharging farmers for taking their products to market and storing them in grain elevators.
Again, they were jsut tired of it. So they decided to start a political party of their own, populism.
Again, farmers were tired of this, so they decided to form the populist party.
The populist party went on to vote in the election, for William Jennings Bryan.
